Note that up until the mayor walks away and to his car, this is all a long, single take with no cuts! With all that wordy, overlapping dialogue from the three actors, that’s pretty impressive. One miscue or bungled line reading would’ve ruined it. Always curious about how many takes it took to mail this? It feels very natural, like real people bickering, with all the excited overlap and crosstalk. Always loved this scene. Up on that ridge, far from the ocean, everyone is safe. Including that idiot mayor and his little anchor blazer. Wish it had been him who had his leg bitten off and not that guy in the rowboat talking to the three boys.
